Before her farewell race, Winx had her final Sydney trial at Warwick Farm in January 2019. Even though it was just a trial, huge crowds turned up to watch the champion go through her paces. This moment was special as it was one of the last times Sydney racing fans got to see her in action before her historic Queen Elizabeth Stakes win at Randwick.

2. Secretariat’s Trainer (Lucien Laurin) Visits Warwick Farm (1972)

In 1972, Lucien Laurin, the trainer of the legendary Secretariat, visited Warwick Farm as part of a scouting trip to assess Australian horses and racing conditions. This visit came one year before Secretariat's 1973 U.S. Triple Crown sweep, which remains one of the most famous achievements in horse racing history. While Secretariat never raced in Australia, Laurin’s trip highlighted Australia’s growing reputation in international racing.
