2027 FIFA Women's World Cup Betting Markets & Odds
The FIFA World Cups are the biggest betting events on the football calendar. Every four years, various teams from all over the globe will compete in gruelling head-to-head matches, trying to earn their way to the tournament's title.
The tournament begins with the group stage, where each team will be allocated a group (e.g. Australia was in Group D in the 2026 FIFA World Cup) and play 3 games against their group members to gain as many points as they can to qualify for the knockout stage. The knockout stage involves the two rounds between the 32 qualifying teams, then the remaining 16. Unlike the group stage, if the score is tied at full time, then the knockout match must extend to extra time (up to 120 minutes total), and occasionally further to penalty shootouts. The leading 8 teams proceed to face-off in the quarter-finals, then the top 4 play in the semi-finals. The two apex teams then battle each other in the finals for the winning title.
The World Cup matches are renowned for their intensity, dramatic moments, and the unmatched passion of supporters following their nations on football's biggest stage. 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup Recap
Spain claimed their first FIFA Women's World Cup victory in the tense 1-0 match against England in 2023.
Australia and New Zealand co-hosted the tournament, marking the first time it had been jointly staged by two nations, and it was also the largest Women's World Cup ever held, expanding to 32 teams for the first time with eight nations making their historical debuts.
The underdogs are what made this tournament memorable. Debutants Morocco progressed out of their group, while Jamaica and South Africa advanced to the knockout stage for the first time. Germany's group-stage elimination, sealed by a draw with South Korea after Morocco's shock win over Colombia, stood as one of the biggest shocks in the tournament's history. Colombia's Linda Caicedo scored a stunning solo goal against Germany that was later voted the tournament's best, and co-hosts Australia won the longest penalty shootout in World Cup history, 20 kicks, to beat France in the quarter-finals before falling to England in the semi-final.
Spain had a brilliant tournament from start to finish. They topped Group C with wins over Costa Rica and Zambia despite a surprise 4-0 loss to Japan, then thrashed Switzerland 5-1 in the round of 16, beat the Netherlands 2-1 in extra time in the quarter-finals, and edged Sweden 2-1 in the semi-final to reach their first ever final. In the final, Spain won 1-0 through a goal from Olga Carmona, claiming the title in what was each finalist's first Women's World Cup final appearance.
England also had an admirable run to their first final. The Lionesses topped Group D with wins over Haiti and China before edging past Nigeria on penalties in the round of 16, beating Colombia 2-1 in the quarter-finals, and defeating co-hosts Australia 3-1 in the semi-final, before falling just short against Spain in the final.
On the field, Japan's Hinata Miyazawa earned the Golden Boot with 5 goals scored across 2 games. And the Golden Ball was awarded to Spain's Aitana Bonmatí as she was named the tournament's best player.
