Historically, the race has seen remarkable performances, with Sunline being the only horse to win the Coolmore Classic twice, achieving victories in 2000 and 2002. In the 2025 edition, the race was won by Espiona, trained by Chris Waller. Espiona's victory added to the rich history of the Coolmore Classic, further cementing its reputation as a showcase for elite female thoroughbreds in Australia.
