That win sealed her place as one of the greatest racehorses ever, with a 33-race winning streak and 25 Group 1 victories.

2. Kingston Town’s Historic Cox Plate Three-Peat (1980-1982)

Before Winx’s dominance, Kingston Town was the undisputed king of the Cox Plate, winning it three years in a row — a record that stood for 36 years. His 1982 victory was particularly famous, with legendary race caller Bill Collins declaring, “Kingston Town can't win!” — only for him to storm home and prove everyone wrong. The “King” of Moonee Valley, Kingston Town’s feats still hold a special place in racing folklore.

3. The First Ever Cox Plate (1922)

The Cox Plate was first run in 1922, named after the track’s founder, W.S. Cox. The inaugural winner was Violoncello, a British import, marking the beginning of what would become Australasia’s premier weight-for-age championship. Over a century later, the Cox Plate remains the ultimate test of speed, stamina, and tactical brilliance.
