In 2025, the race date was moved to November, after the occurrence of the February running, to assist in offsetting the changes to the racing calendar made by the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes and Thousand Guineas movements. Especially significant, as this empty slot follows the Melbourne Cup, and now filled, it encourages the excitement of Melbourne’s Spring Carnival to continue.
